Language Evolution

Where do rules for new language come from?

While there are some "dead" languages, American English is not one of them. Every year new words are added to the dictionary and definitions are changed or added to.Today we use a much different form of english than in Shakespear's time.

How we speak and communicate governs how new rules are formed. The usage of slang words, the new use for older words, and a constant need for new words fuels the need to continually alter the rules.

New forms of words come about when someone trys to communicate something that he has no words for, he tries to say it faster or more melodically, or when he chooses to use an old word for a new purpose. New phrases are formed to communicate something specific.

Linguists will analysze the new ways for conversing and will publish rules in dictionary's and other source books accordingly, however, the rules for the new language are formed by those who invent and use it.
